Frequently Asked Questions

I don’t have any sales experience. Would this be a good business for me to operate?

NO. Selling mattresses off the back of a truck requires somebody to be a very good salesperson to maximize the profit potential. iDealFurniture would be a better opportunity for somebody with little to no sales experience; however, you may want to look at a Joint Venture with us and we will recruit, train and motivate Operators that do have strong sales experience. You can actually make a lot more money as well, based on the concept of leverage.

I have an old truck, can I use this as a MattressTruck?

Yes and No. The last thing you want is an old truck that constantly has service issues and down time. We suggest that you use the truck as a trade-in and lower the monthly overhead. We have found that many people are skeptical about purchasing items off the back of an old truck for fear that it is stolen or of low quality. A new truck that is branded professionally & beautifully, gives the assurance to even the most skeptical customer, that they are dealing with a reputable operation and still understand why the prices are so much lower than the “discount” mattress chains.

I own a building that I cannot rent out, can this be a Distribution Center?

YES! As long as you have the ability to accept delivery from the 54 foot Serta & Simmons trucks that deliver your inventory, we are very flexible with the location, size and layout of the Distribution Centers.

Is the Distribution Center a Joint Venture?

NO. The Distribution Center is a much simpler operation than operating a MattressTruck (which requires excellent sales skills). The Distribution Center simply receives Inventory and MattressTruck Operators. Customers are repurchasing at higher prices than what you paid. YOU keep 100% of Profits! Of course, a Distribution Center could also own a fleet of trucks on a Joint Venture basis, as an option.

I am a good sales person but I have Bad Credit…can I qualify for a MattressTruck?

NO. But we do accept co-signors or you can find a partner that has decent credit.

As an Operator, how many mattresses do I need to sell to break even?

Your total overhead, including your lease payment and gas, should be less than $1000 per month, with the average profit on the lower priced sets is $250. So, it would only take one sale per WEEK to break even. Of course, the Premium sets offer profits as high as $500 or more per set and we believe each truck should produce a minimum of 10 sales per WEEK if you follow our formulas. You do the math!

What happens, if for some reason, I do not like the business, and I don’t need the truck anymore, am I stuck?

NO! We have a list of many people that would love to do the business, but cannot qualify for a loan. We have a Guaranteed Program where we would take over your payments and either put the Truck in our Fleet or give somebody an opportunity that cannot qualify, if they put up a substantial security deposit.

Will I need any special licenses or permits to operate legally?

Yes & No. Since we utilize a 16 foot box truck, you will not need any commercial or special driver’s license; however, just like any business, you will need a Seller’s Permit and Business License. As a Joint Venture Partner on a Fleet, you will not need anything, since we are licensed to resell in all 50 States.

Will I have any guarantee of profits?

NO. Any business opportunity that guarantees profits should be looked at very apprehensively. However, when you look at the risk and reward of our business model, we feel we are the best kept secret in America. MattressTruck offers low overhead, high profit, waiving of License & Trademark Fees and walk away clause. Of course, this is for a limited time and once we have a certain number of trucks on the road, we will institute and continue to raise the cost of the license & trademark fees.

This looks like a fun & profitable business, what is the catch?

As was previously mentioned, you need to be really good at sales or know somebody that is to be a successful owner-operator. The catch for the JV is that you put up the money or credit and we operate the Fleet on a 50-50 basis. Of course, we also have a buyout clause for Joint Venture Partners, if for any reason, you don’t like the business.
